Ski Boot Fitting, Inc.
Dividing their time between a full-service location at the base of Vail Mountain and a shop at the summit, SBF staff members ski over 100 days a year. Their on-snow backgrounds in ski instruction, coaching, racing, freestyle, ski patrol, and international competition coupled with in-store experience add up to over 100 years of cumulative experience. Staff members are teachers or graduates of MasterFit University.
Chris Wiberg has worked in the ski retail industry for eleven years as a boot fitter, ski tuner, or shop manager. He brings to SBF an intuitive mechanical knowledge of how ski equipment works and he has designed and built tools that are used to evaluate stance and alignment. During the summers, Chris can be found at White Bear Boatworks in Minnesota, working on boat restoration and sailboat rigging.
A native Virginian, Jeff Harper worked on the National Ski Patrol for 6 years and then in the retail ski industry for 19 years. This is his 5th winter working at SBF. He is passionate about the outdoors and lived in a tepee for two years. Besides alpine skiing, Jeff also telemark skis and snowboards.
Ellen Post Foster was a member of the PSIA National Demonstration Team for eight years. She is the author of four ski instructional books including Skiing and the Art of Carving. Her technical skiing background provides a strong foundation for applying ski boot mechanics to on-snow performance. In 2011, Ellen was inducted into the U.S. Ski Hall of Fame as a Pioneer of Freestyle Skiing.
Greg Hoffmann, founder of Ski Boot Fitting Inc., has been fitting boots since 1979.
